Terms & Conditions
CANCELLATION/RESCHEDULING
I kindly ask that if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, you provider me with 48 hours notice. For any late cancellations or missed appointments, a deposit of €50 will be required prior to rescheduling an appointment. The deposit will secure your new appointment. Any deposits paid will be deduced from your final bill. In the event that you intend to pay for your products in full using a gift voucher, your deposit will be refunded on successful attendance of your appointment.

LATENESS
I allow a 15 minute grace period from the start of your scheduled appointment time. If you are more than 15 minutes late, and there is an appointment booked directly after you, I will be unable to carry out your appointment, and any deposits paid will be non-refundable and non-transferable to another date. I would require another deposit to book a new appointment. If you have a gift voucher, a new deposit will be required to book another appointment. There are no exceptions to this.

PAYMENTS
Payment is required in two payments:
-
A 50% payment at your casting appointment either by cash or revolut transfer. A receipt of payment will be provided, detailing amount paid and outstanding amounts owed.
-
The remaining 50% will be payable on collection of your finished product. This payment can be by cash or revolut transfer. A further receipt will be provided.

Gift vouchers can be purchased also. These can be collected from my home address or posted to you (postage costs apply). Payment for vouchers can be by cash or revolut transfer.

COLLECTION
All life castings take approximately 5-6 weeks to complete. There are multiple stages of refining involved and from appointment to completion it is a lengthy process. While I aim to achieve the 5-6 week turnover, this can fluctuate and be slightly longer at times and dependant on the size of casting.
As soon as your sculptures are ready for collection, I will let you know either by email and/or the phone numbers supplied by you at the time of booking. Please make sure I have your up to date contact details. To keep my studio organised, and protect sculptures from getting damaged, please collect your keepsake as soon as possible after notification - ideally within 1 week of being notified of completion. If you cannot come within a week, please let me know and I will be happy to store your sculpture for you free of charge by arrangement for up to 6 weeks after notification of its completion. If the item remains uncollected after 6 weeks, it becomes the sole property of Memories Cast and any payments made towards it are forfeited by the customer.

KEEPSAKE AFTERCARE
Your keepsake should last for a lifetime if taken care of properly. To take care of your keepsake:
-
wash and dry your hands before touching freestanding casts
-
keep it out of direct sunlight
-
keep it away from extreme temperature fluctuations
-
keep it away from heat, water, and areas with high moisture levels
-
dust regularly, using a duster or soft cloth
KEEPSAKE REPAIRS
If your keepsake needs to be repaired, please get in touch asap to let me know what has happened so we can discuss how to repair it. Accidents happen, and I’m happy to help where I can, however please note that repair work will incur costs. If repair work is required because of a fault of mine, I will repair it at my expense.

RETURNS/RECASTING
Returns are only accepted if there is a significant flaw. If you see anything that you feel severely detracts from the beauty of your piece, please send me an email to discuss. It is important to me that you are happy with your piece and I will do my best to ensure this. If a repair proves unsatisfactory, at my discretion I will offer to repeat the cast (which may incur a fee). Each piece is made carefully by hand, this may mean that there are common irregularities. There may be imperfections, air bubbles, water lines, evidence of repair work, and variations of colour to name a few.

If you are unhappy with your keepsake because of something that was beyond my control such as a baby’s finger position, movement whilst in the mould, or a group of hands who changed position from the agreed pose once submerged in the moulding material - this is typically only discovered after the appointment has finished and the cast has been revealed. As a goodwill gesture, I will carry out one free re-cast. A flat fee of €75 thereafter will be charged for any additional re-castings.

YOUR HEALTH & SAFETY
I take your health and safety seriously. The materials I use are safe, and I always fully explain the process before you are cast, but if you would like to know more before attending your appointment, please get in touch. Additionally if you would like a skin patch test prior to your appointment, I'm happy to do this at my home studio on request. I do my best to minimise any risk of injury or discomfort to customers while they are in my care. However, it is important to recognise the following before agreeing to take part:
-
The process involves hands-on touching of the area being cast.
-
The process can involve varying temperatures (this might include warm moulding material, and a cold cloth). At no point should it be uncomfortable or would you be in danger from being burnt.
-
The process involves material being applied directly to your skin. These materials includes a seaweed-based casting gel, which is a medical-grade product used commonly by dentists and in hospitals - very safe and gentle on the skin and even safe to eat.
-
Removal of any casting material from the skin is gentle and does not hurt. It may result in temporary redness of the skin which should not cause any discomfort and will fade naturally within a couple of minutes.
-
Staying still, particularly standing still, for the casting process can result in some people feeling light headed or faint. This is more likely if you have medical problems or are pregnant. For this reason, please notify me in advance of any health condition which may affect your ability to stay still during the moulding stages without feeling unwell.
-
The casting room floor can get slippery during the casting process. Please take extra care when moving around the casting area.
-
The casting studio is in a family home with all the associated risks of being in any such building for example stairs, electric plug sockets, occasional trip hazards. Please move carefully about the studio and house during your visit and keep all children within sight.
